He will cry out for destruction

His statement: فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُو ثُبُورًا ("then he will call out for destruction") means: then he will cry out for annihilation, and that is that he says: "Woe, my destruction!", "Woe, my misery!". It is derived from their expression: "So-and-so called upon his anguish," when someone says: "Woe, my anguish!".
And in agreement with what we have said concerning this, the people of interpretation (ahl al-taʾwīl) have spoken.
We have already expounded earlier the meaning of al-thubūr (destruction), with the proof-texts for it and with what exists regarding it of transmitted reports.
It was related to me on the authority of al-Ḥusayn, who said: I heard Abū Muʿādh saying: ʿUbayd related to us, he said: I heard al-Ḍaḥḥāk saying concerning His statement: يَدْعُو ثُبُورًا ("he will call out for destruction"), he said: he calls out for annihilation.
