And His word: ( And indeed, your Lord will give you, and you will be satisfied ) — the Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: And indeed, your Lord will give you, O Muḥammad, in the Hereafter, of the abundance of His favors, until you are satisfied.

The scholars differed concerning that which He promised to give him. Some of them said: it is that which

Mūsā ibn Sahl al-Ramlī related to me, saying: ʿAmr ibn Hāshim related to us, saying: I heard al-Awzāʿī narrate, on the authority of Ismāʿīl ibn ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Abī al-Muhājir al-Makhzūmī, on the authority of ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbbās, on the authority of his father, who said: To the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was shown what would be opened in conquests for his community after him, village by village, and he rejoiced at that. Then Allah revealed: ( And indeed, your Lord will give you, and you will be satisfied ). And He gave him in Paradise a thousand palaces, in each palace what is fitting of wives and servants.

Muḥammad ibn Khalaf al-ʿAsqalānī related to me, saying: Rawwād ibn al-Jarrāḥ related to me, on the authority of al-Awzāʿī, on the authority of Ismāʿīl ibn ʿUbayd Allāh, on the authority of ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbbās, concerning His word: ( And indeed, your Lord will give you, and you will be satisfied ) he said: a thousand palaces of pearls, whose dust is musk, and in them is what makes them suitable.

Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: ( And indeed, your Lord will give you, and you will be satisfied ), and that is on the Day of Resurrection.

And others said concerning it what ʿAbbād ibn Yaʿqūb related to me, saying: al-Ḥakam ibn Ẓuhayr related to us, on the authority of al-Suddī, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, concerning His word: ( And indeed, your Lord will give you, and you will be satisfied ) he said: Among the satisfaction of Muḥammad ﷺ is that none of his household will enter the Fire.
