Tafseer of The Night · Al-Lail · 92:4
Indeed, your efforts are diverse.

And His statement: إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّى (Indeed, your striving is diverse). He says: your deeds are divergent, O people, for among you is the one who disbelieves in his Lord and is disobedient to Him in His command and His prohibition, and the one who believes in Him and is obedient to Him in His command and His prohibition.
As Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His statement: إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّى (Indeed, your striving is diverse) — he says: divergent.
And His statement: إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّى (Indeed, your striving is diverse) is the response to the oath, and the words are: by the night when it covers, indeed your striving is diverse. And thus the scholars said.
