Tafseer of The Night · Al-Lail · 92:18

ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ

[He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself

    His statement: الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّى ("who gives his wealth to purify himself") means: the one who, in this worldly life, spends his wealth on the rights of Allah which He has imposed upon him. يَتَزَكَّى ("he purifies himself") means: he purifies himself, through the giving thereof, of his sins.

    وقوله: ( الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّى ) يقول: الذي يعطي ماله في الدنيا في حقوق الله التي ألزمه إياها، ( يَتَزَكَّى ) : يعني: يتطهر بإعطائه ذلك من ذنوبه.
