Tafseer of The Overwhelming · Al-Ghaashiya · 88:5
They will be given drink from a boiling spring.

His statement: تُسْقَى مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ (They are given to drink from a boiling spring). He says: the possessors of these faces are given to drink from the beverage of a spring whose heat has reached its utmost and attained its peak in the intensity of heat.
In accordance with what we have said, the people of interpretation have spoken.
* Mention of those who said that:
Muḥammad ibn Saʿd related to me, he said: my father related to me, he said: my uncle related to me, he said: my father related to me, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, His statement: تُسْقَى مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ — he said: it is that whose boiling moan (anīn) has lasted long.
Yaʿqūb related to me, he said: Ibn ʿUlayya related to us, on the authority of Abū Rajāʾ, on the authority of al-Ḥasan, concerning His statement: تُسْقَى مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ — he said: its boiling has reached its utmost since the day Allah created the world.
Yaʿqūb related it to me yet another time, and said: since the day Allah created the heavens and the earth.
Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr related to me, he said: Abū ʿĀṣim related to us, he said: ʿĪsā related to us; and al-Ḥārith related to me, he said: al-Ḥasan related to us, he said: Warqāʾ related to us — both on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid, concerning the statement of Allah: مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ — he said: it has reached its utmost time, and the time to drink from it has come.
Bishr related to us, he said: Yazīd related to us, he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, His statement: تُسْقَى مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ — he says: its boiling has reached its utmost since Allah created the heavens and the earth.
Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, he said: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of al-Ḥasan, concerning His statement: مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ — he said: from a spring whose heat has reached its utmost; he says: its heat has reached its peak.
Some of them said: by His statement مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ is meant: from a spring that is present/ready.

Yūnus related to me, he said: Ibn Wahb informed us, he said: Ibn Zayd said concerning His statement: تُسْقَى مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ — he said: āniya means: present/ready.
