So remind, if the reminder should benefit;

And His word: فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَى ("So remind, if the reminder benefits"). The Exalted, whose praise is exalted, says: Remind the servants of Allah, O Muḥammad, of His greatness, and urge them on, and warn them of His punishment. إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَى ("if the reminder benefits"), He says: if the reminder benefits those concerning whom I have made you despair of their faith—for the reminder does not benefit them. And His word: فَذَكِّرْ ("so remind") is a command from Allah to His Prophet ﷺ to remind all people. Then He said: if the reminder benefits these concerning whom I have made you despair of their faith.
