ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Who deny the Day of Recompense.

    Yūnus related to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said concerning His words: الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ ("Those who deny the Day of Judgment") (83:11) — he said: these are the people of associating partners with Allah (ahl al-shirk); they deny the religion. And he recited: وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هَلْ نَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى رَجُلٍ يُنَبِّئُكُمْ ("And those who disbelieved said: shall we point you to a man who will inform you ...") to the end of the verse.
