But when there comes the Deafening Blast

His statement: فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الصَّاخَّةُ ("When then the deafening cry comes") — it has been transmitted that this is one of the names of the Resurrection (al-qiyāma). I suspect that it is derived from their expression: "so-and-so listened sharply (ṣākha) to the voice of so-and-so," when he listens to it; except that of this one says: "he is the one who listens attentively (muṣīkh)," and perhaps it is the voice itself that is the ṣākhkh (the deafening one). If that is so, then this would have to take place before the blowing of the trumpet (al-ṣūr).
Mention of who said: it is one of the names of the Resurrection:
ʿAlī related to me, saying: Abū Ṣāliḥ related to us, saying: Muʿāwiya related to me, on the authority of ʿAlī, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, concerning His word: فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الصَّاخَّةُ ("When then the deafening cry comes"), he said: This is one of the names of the Day of Resurrection, which Allah has magnified and against which He has warned His servants.
