And grapes and herbage

The meaning of and grapes is: and grapevines bearing grapes. and qaḍb (fodder): by al-qaḍb is meant: the fresh alfalfa (al-raṭba), and the people of Mecca call alfalfa (al-qatt) "al-qaḍb."
And in accordance with what we have said about this, the commentators have spoken.
* Mention of those who said that:
ʿAlī related to me, saying: Abū Ṣāliḥ related to us, saying: Muʿāwiya related to me, on the authority of ʿAlī, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, concerning His word: and qaḍb. He said: That is al-fiṣfiṣa (alfalfa).
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: and qaḍb. He said: al-qaḍb is al-faṣāfiṣ (the alfalfa plants).
Abū Jaʿfar, may Allah have mercy on him, said: al-fiṣfiṣa is the fresh alfalfa (al-raṭba).
It was related to me on the authority of al-Ḥusayn, who said: I heard Abū Muʿādh say: ʿUbayd related to us, saying: I heard al-Ḍaḥḥāk say concerning His word: and qaḍb: by this is meant: the fresh alfalfa (al-raṭba).
Bishr related to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Ziyād related to us, saying: Yūnus related to us, on the authority of al-Ḥasan, concerning His word: and qaḍb. He said: al-qaḍb is the fodder (al-ʿalaf).
