How We poured down water in torrents,

The reciters differed over the reading of His statement: أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَاءَ صَبًّا (that We poured down the water abundantly). Most of the reciters of Medina and Basra read it with a kasra on the alif of "annā" (innā), as a new opening sentence; while most of the reciters of Kufa read it as "annā" with a fatḥa on the alif, in the meaning of: let man then look at the fact that We — whereby "annā" is placed in a position of the genitive, with the intent of a repetition of the genitive-governing element. It is, however, also possible that, when read with fatḥa, it is a nominative, with the intent [continuing on from the preceding]: his food, [namely] أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَاءَ صَبًّا (that We poured down the water abundantly).
And the correct view on this matter, in my opinion, is that these are two well-known readings: with whichever of the two the reciter recites, he is correct.
And His statement: أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَاءَ صَبًّا (that We poured down the water abundantly). He says: that We sent down the rain from the sky, a sending down, and poured it abundantly over it.
