And made of him two mates, the male and the female.

فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالأنْثَى ("And He made from it the two genders, the male and the female"). The Exalted, whose praise is exalted, says: and He made from this human being, after He had formed him into a well-proportioned creature, children for him, male and female.
