[Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other

Ibn Ḥumayd related to us, saying: Mihrān related to us, on the authority of Sufyān, on the authority of al-Aʿmash, on the authority of ʿUthmān ibn ʿUmayr Abū al-Yaqẓān, on the authority of Zādhān Abū ʿUmar, on the authority of ʿAlī (may Allah be pleased with him): illā aṣḥāb al-yamīn ("except the people of the right hand"), he said: the children of the Muslims.
Abū Kurayb related to us, saying: Wakīʿ related to us, on the authority of Sufyān, on the authority of Abū al-Yaqẓān, on the authority of Zādhān, on the authority of ʿAlī (may Allah be pleased with him): illā aṣḥāb al-yamīn , he said: they are the children.
And others said: they are the angels.

Abū Kurayb related to us, saying: Wakīʿ related to us, on the authority of Sharīk, on the authority of al-Aʿmash, on the authority of Abū Ẓabyān, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, he said: they are the angels. Now, whoever in this place said that by "the people of the right hand" are meant the children and the little ones of the Muslims, and whoever said that they are the angels — [they said this] because these had no sins. And they said: they would not ask the evildoers mā salakakum fī saqar ("what brought you into Saqar?") unless they had committed no crimes in this world; for if they had committed and known them, they would not ask them what brought them into Saqar, because every one of the children of Adam who has entered [the Fire] and has reached the limit of religious obligation (taklīf) and upon whom the duty of command and prohibition has been imposed already knows that no one is punished except for disobedience.
