Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction."

His statement: qul innī lā amliku lakum ḍarran wa-lā rashadan ("Say: I possess for you neither harm nor right guidance"). The Exalted, whose praise is mentioned, says to His Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: Say, O Muḥammad, to the polytheists (mushrikīn) of the Arabs who have rejected the sincere counsel with which you came to them: I possess for you neither harm in your religion nor in your worldly life, nor any right guidance with which I might guide you — for the One who possesses that is Allah, to whom belongs the dominion over all things.
