Yūnus related to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said, concerning His word: ( الْحَاقَّةُ مَا الْحَاقَّةُ ) ("The Sure Reality! What is the Sure Reality?"), and ( الْقَارِعَةُ * مَا الْقَارِعَةُ ) ("The Calamity! What is the Calamity?"), and al-Wāqiʿa (the Event), and al-Ṭāmma (the Overwhelming), and al-Ṣākhkha (the Deafening Cry): He said: All of this is the Day of Resurrection, the Hour. And he recited the word of Allah: لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ * خَافِضَةٌ رَافِعَةٌ ("At its occurrence there is no lie; abasing, exalting") (56:2-3). And the "abasing one" (al-khāfiḍa) of this has likewise abased the inhabitants of the Fire, and we know of none more lowly abased than the inhabitants of the Fire, nor more contemptible, nor more disgraced. And it has exalted the inhabitants of the Paradise, and we know of none more noble than the inhabitants of the Paradise, nor more honored.
