قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَٰغِينَ

They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors.

    And His statement: ( يَاوَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا طَاغِينَ ) ("O woe to us, indeed we were transgressors") means: the owners of the garden said: O woe to us, indeed we had strayed far, in transgression of the command of Allah, by neglecting the reservation (al-istithnāʾ) and the glorification (al-tasbīḥ).
