Tafseer of Friday · Al-Jumu'a · 62:7

وَلَا يَتَمَنَّوْنَهُۥٓ أَبَدًۢا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

But they will not wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers.

    He, exalted be His mention, says to His Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: وَلا يَتَمَنَّوْنَهُ أَبَدًا ("and they will never wish for it"). He says: and the Jews will never wish for death, بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ ("because of what their hands have sent forth") — He means: because of the sins they have acquired in this worldly life and the evil deeds they have committed. وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالظَّالِمِينَ ("and Allah is all-knowing of the wrongdoers"). He says: and Allah has knowledge of which of His creatures has wronged itself and has destroyed it [the soul] through its disbelief in Allah.

    يقول تعالى ذكره لنبيه محمد صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم: (وَلا يَتَمَنَّوْنَهُ أَبَدًا ) يقول: ولا يتمنى اليهود الموت أبدًا(بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ ) يعني: بما اكتسبوا في هذه الدنيا من الآثام، واجترحوا من السيئات (وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالظَّالِمِينَ ) يقول: والله ذو علم بمن ظلم من خلقه نفسه، فأوبقها بكفره بالله.
