Discussion of the explanation of His word, the Exalted: وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ ("And the companions of the right hand — what are the companions of the right hand!") (27)
Allah, exalted is His mention, says to His prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ ("And the companions of the right hand"). These are those who on the Day of Resurrection are led to the right side, those who receive their books in their right hand, O Muḥammad. مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ ("What are the companions of the right hand!") — that is to say: what kind of people are they, and what do they have, and what good has been prepared for them? It has been said: they are the children of the believers.
* Mention of who said that:
Muḥammad ibn Maʿmar related to me, saying: Abū Hishām al-Makhzūmī related to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Wāḥid related to us, saying: al-Aʿmash related to us, saying: ʿUthmān ibn Qays related to us, that he heard Zādhān Abā ʿAmr say: I heard ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, may Allah be pleased with him, say concerning وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ , he said: the companions of the right hand are the children of the believers.
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His word: وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ , namely: what do they have, and what has been prepared for them.
