فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَٰتٌ حِسَانٌۭ

    And His word: فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ("Therein are good, beautiful women") — the Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: in these four gardens — two of which are appointed for whoever fears the station of his Lord, and the other two, lower than those two, the two dark-green gardens — there are women good of character and beautiful of face.

    As Bishr related to us, he said: Yazīd related to us, he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ("Therein are good, beautiful women"), he says: in these gardens are women good of character and beautiful of face.

    Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, he said: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His word: خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ("good, beautiful women"), he said: good of character, beautiful of face.

    Yūnus related to me, he said: Ibn Wahb informed us, he said: Ibn Zayd said, concerning His word: فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ("Therein are good, beautiful women"), he said: the good, beautiful women are the wide-eyed houris (al-ḥūr al-ʿīn).

    Ibn Bashshār related to us, he said: Muḥammad ibn Marwān related to us, he said: Abū al-ʿAwwām related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ("Therein are good, beautiful women"), he said: good of character, beautiful of face.

    Abū Hishām related to us, he said: Wakīʿ related to us, on the authority of Sufyān, on the authority of Jābir, on the authority of al-Qāsim ibn Abī Bazza, on the authority of Abū ʿUbayd, on the authority of Masrūq, on the authority of ʿAbdallāh: فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ("Therein are good, beautiful women"), he said: in every tent there is a wife.

    Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Wahb related to us, he said: Muḥammad ibn al-Faraj al-Ṣadafī al-Dimyāṭī related to us, on the authority of ʿAmr ibn Hāshim, on the authority of Ibn Abī Karīma, on the authority of Hishām ibn Ḥassān, on the authority of al-Ḥasan, on the authority of his mother, on the authority of Umm Salama, who said: "I said: O Messenger of Allah, tell me about His word: فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ("Therein are good, beautiful women"). He said: 'Good of character, beautiful of face.'"

    وقوله: ( فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ) يقول تعالى ذكره: في هذه الجنان الأربع اللواتي اثنتان منهنّ لمن يخاف مقام ربه، والأخريان منهنّ من دونهما المدهامتان خيرات الأخلاق، حسان الوجوه. كما حدثنا بشر، قال: ثنا يزيد، قال: ثنا سعيد، عن قتادة ( فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ )، يقول: في هذه الجنان خيرات الأخلاق، حسان الوجوه. حدثنا ابن عبد الأعلى، قال: ثنا ابن ثور، عن معمر، عن قتادة، في قوله: ( خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ) قال: خيرات في الأخلاق، حسان في الوجوه. حدثني يونس، قال: أخبرنا ابن وهب، قال، قال ابن زيد، في قوله: ( فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ) قال: الخيرات الحسان: الحور العين. حدثنا ابن بشار، قال: ثنا محمد بن مروان، قال: ثنا أبو العوام، عن قتادة ( فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ) قال: خيرات الأخلاق، حسان الوجوه. حدثنا أبو هشام، قال: ثنا وكيع، عن سفيان، عن جابر، عن القاسم بن أبي بزّة، عن أبي عبيد، عن مسروق، عن عبد الله ( فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ) قال: في كل خيمة زوجة. حدثنا أحمد بن عبد الرحمن بن وهب، قال: ثنا محمد بن الفرج الصّدَفيّ الدمياطي عن عمرو بن هاشم، عن ابن أبي كريمة، عن هشام بن حسان، عن الحسن، عن أمه، عن أمّ سلمة قالت " قلت: يا رسول الله أخبرني عن قوله: ( فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ) قال: خَيْرَاتُ الأخْلاقِ، حِسانُ الوُجُوهِ".
