And His word: يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ ("They go around between it and boiling water that has reached the utmost degree of heat"). The Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: these evildoers, whose attribute He has described, go around in Hell (jahannam) between its layers وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ ("and boiling water that has reached the utmost degree"). He says: and between water that has been heated and brought to a boil, until its heat has reached the utmost degree and its boiling point has been reached. Everything that has reached its full ripeness and endpoint has reached "anā." To this belongs His word: غَيْرَ نَاظِرِينَ إِنَاهُ ("without waiting for it to be cooked") (33:53), by which is meant: its being cooked and its full attainment. As Nābigha of the Banū Dhubyān said:

"And a beard that committed treachery and faithlessness shall be dyed

with the redness of the blood from the chest cavity that has reached the utmost (ānī)."

He means: having reached its climax.

And in accordance with what we have said about this, the people of interpretation (ahl al-taʾwīl) have spoken.
