The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.

The statement concerning the explanation of His word, the Exalted: The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet (55:41)
And His statement: ( The criminals will be known by their marks ) — the Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: the angels recognize the criminals by their signs and marks with which Allah has marked them: by the blackness of their faces and the blueness of their eyes.
As Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, saying: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of al-Ḥasan, concerning His statement: ( The criminals will be known by their marks ) — he said: they are recognized by the blackness of their faces and the blueness of their eyes.
Ibn Bashshār related to us, saying: Muḥammad ibn Marwān related to us, saying: Abū al-ʿAwwām related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: ( The criminals will be known by their marks ) — he said: blue eyes, black faces.
And His statement: ( and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet ) — the Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: the zabāniya (the keepers of Hell) seize them by their forelocks and their feet, and drag them to Hell (jahannam) and cast them into it.
