It has been related from Qatāda regarding this what Ibn Bashshār related to us, saying: Muḥammad ibn Marwān al-ʿUqaylī related to us, saying: Abū al-ʿAwwām al-ʿIjlī related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, that concerning the explanation of الرَّحْمَنُ عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ "The Most Merciful taught the Qurʾān" he said: by Allah, a tremendous favor.
