The people of Lot denied the warning.

His statement كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ بِالنُّذُرِ ("The people of Lūṭ declared the warnings to be lies") (54:33) — the Exalted, whose remembrance is sublime, says: the people of Lūṭ declared to be lies the signs of Allah by which He warned them and brought them to remembrance.
