And that it is He who causes death and gives life

The explanation of the word of the Exalted: And that it is He who causes death and gives life (44).
The Exalted, Whose praise is exalted, says: and that it is He who has caused to die whoever of His creatures dies, and He is the One who has given life to whoever of them lives. By His word gives life He means: the breathing of the spirit into the dead drop, whereby He made it alive by placing the spirit within it.
