Tafseer of The Star · An-Najm · 53:4

إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْىٌۭ يُوحَىٰ

It is not but a revelation revealed,

    ( إِنْ هُوَ إِلا وَحْيٌ يُوحَى ) — "It is nothing but a revelation that is revealed" — he said: Allah, blessed and exalted is He, reveals to Jibrāʾīl, and Jibrīl reveals to Muḥammad ﷺ.

    And it has been said: by His word ( وَمَا يَنْطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَى ) ("and he does not speak from desire") is meant: out of desire.

    ( إِنْ هُوَ إِلا وَحْيٌ يُوحَى ) قال: يوحي الله تبارك وتعالى إلى جبرائيل, ويوحي جبريل إلى محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم . وقيل: عنى بقوله ( وَمَا يَنْطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَى ) بالهوى.
