His statement يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ (from him is turned away whoever is turned away) means: from belief in this Qurʾān is turned away whoever is turned away, and is kept back whoever is kept back, so that he remains deprived of it.

And in accordance with what we have said about this, the scholars of exegesis have spoken.

    * The mention of who said that:

Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr related to me, saying: Abū ʿĀṣim related to us, saying: ʿĪsā related to us; and al-Ḥārith related to me, saying: al-Ḥasan related to us, saying: Warqāʾ related to us, all on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid, his statement about يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ (from him is turned away whoever is turned away). Ibn ʿAmr said in his narration: "yūfī", or "yuʾfan", or a similar word. And al-Ḥārith said: "yuʾfan", without doubt.

Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, saying: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of Qatāda, on the authority of al-Ḥasan, about يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ (from him is turned away whoever is turned away), he said: From him is turned away whoever is turned away.

Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, about يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ (from him is turned away whoever is turned away): the one from whom the present is turned away, that is to say: the Book of Allah.

Yūnus related to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said about His statement يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ (from him is turned away whoever is turned away): From him the polytheists (mushrikīn) are turned away.
