His statement إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ (truly, what you are promised is true) means — the Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says: Truly, that which you are promised, O people, concerning the coming of the Hour and the raising of the dead from their graves, is true. He says: it is indeed coming, a certain truth.

And in agreement with what we have said about this, the scholars of exegesis have spoken.

    * The mention of who said that:

Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr related to me, saying: Abū ʿĀṣim related to us, saying: ʿĪsā related to us; and al-Ḥārith related to me, saying: al-Ḥasan related to us, saying: Warqāʾ related to us, all on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid, his statement about إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ (truly, what you are promised is true): the meaning is "truthfulness" (ṣidq), with the noun placed in the position of the verbal noun (maṣdar).
