وَإِنَّ الدِّينَ لَوَاقِعٌ ("and verily the Judgment shall surely come to pass"), He says: and verily the reckoning, the recompense, and the punishment are surely inevitable, and Allah will requite His servants according to their deeds.
And in accordance with what we have said concerning this, the scholars of exegesis have spoken.
* Mention of who said that:
Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr related to me, saying: Abū ʿĀṣim related to us, saying: ʿĪsā related to us; and al-Ḥārith related to me, saying: al-Ḥasan related to us, saying: Warqāʾ related to us — both of them — on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid, concerning His word وَإِنَّ الدِّينَ لَوَاقِعٌ , he said: the reckoning.
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His word إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ وَإِنَّ الدِّينَ لَوَاقِعٌ ("verily what you are promised is true, and verily the Judgment shall surely come to pass"): and that is on the Day of Resurrection, the Day on which people are requited according to their deeds.
Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, saying: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning وَإِنَّ الدِّينَ لَوَاقِعٌ , he said: the Day on which Allah requites the servants according to their deeds.
Yūnus related to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said concerning His word وَإِنَّ الدِّينَ لَوَاقِعٌ , he said: surely coming.
