"There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected.

Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda ( إِنَّ هَؤُلاءِ لَيَقُولُونَ إِنْ هِيَ إِلا مَوْتَتُنَا الأولَى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنْشَرِينَ ) ("Verily, these say indeed: there is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be raised to life again"), he said: the polytheists of the Arabs said ( وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنْشَرِينَ ), that is to say: not raised up.
