Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful."

And His word ( Then bring our forefathers, if you are truthful ) — the Exalted, whose praise is exalted, says: they said to Muḥammad ﷺ: then bring our forefathers who have already died, if you are truthful that Allah will resurrect us after we have decayed in our graves, and will bring us to life after our death. And he ﷺ was addressed alone with an address meant for all, just as it is said: "O Prophet, when you divorce women" (65:1), and just as He said: "My Lord, bring me back" (23:99). And I have expounded that in more than one place in our book.
