And crops and noble sites

( And a noble station ) — He says: and a place where they used to stand, a noble, distinguished spot.
The exegetes (ahl al-taʾwīl) then differed concerning the meaning of Allah's describing that station as noble. Some of them said: He described it thus because of its distinction, and that is because it was the station of kings and rulers. They said: by this are meant the pulpits (the minbars).

Zakariyyā ibn Yaḥyā ibn Abī Zāʾida related to me, saying: ʿAbdallāh ibn Dāwūd al-Wāsiṭī related to us, saying: Sharīk related to us, on the authority of Sālim al-Afṭas, on the authority of Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, concerning His word ( And a noble station ): he said: the pulpits (the minbars).
And others said: He described that station with nobility because of its beauty and splendor.
