The explanation of His, the Exalted, word: Those who believed in Our signs and were Muslims (69)

His word: ( Those who believed in Our signs ). He, exalted is His mention, says: O My servants who believed — they are those who held the Book of Allah and His messengers to be true and acted according to what their messengers brought them — and were Muslims. He says: and they were people who submitted themselves to Allah with their hearts, and who accepted what their messengers brought them from their Lord, upon the religion of Ibrāhīm, the bosom friend of the Most Merciful, Allah's blessing and peace be upon him — as ḥanīfs (upright ones), neither Jews nor Christians, nor idolaters.
