Say, "Indeed I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day."

And the saying of the Exalted: ( Say: Verily, I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the punishment of a mighty Day ) — He, exalted is His mention, says: Say to them, O Muḥammad: Verily, I fear, if I disobey my Lord in that which He commanded me concerning His worship, while I keep obedience purely for Him and ascribe to Him alone the Lordship — ( the punishment of a mighty Day ): He means the punishment (ʿadhāb) of the Day of Resurrection; that is the Day whose terror is mighty.
