The explanation of His statement, exalted is His mention: قُلِ ٱللَّهَ أَعۡبُدُ مُخۡلِصٗا لَّهُۥ دِينِي (39:14).
The Exalted, praised is His mention, says to His Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: Say, O Muḥammad, to the polytheists (mushrikīn) of your people: Allah I worship in sincerity, devoting my obedience and worship (ʿibāda) to Him alone. I associate no partner with Him in that, but I hold Him alone to be the Deity, and I declare myself free of all else that is set up beside Him as equals and gods. So worship, O people, whatever you wish of idols and false deities, and all else that you worship of the remaining creatures; for you will come to know the calamitous outcome of that worship of yours, when you meet your Lord.
