Tafseer of The letter Saad · Saad · 38:60
They will say, "Nor you! No welcome for you. You, [our leaders], brought this upon us, and wretched is the settlement."

( قَالُوا بَلْ أَنْتُمْ لا مَرْحَبًا بِكُمْ ) They said: No, rather, no welcome for you .. until he reached: ( فَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ ) what a wretched abode. He said: these followers say it to the leaders.
Yūnus related to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said, concerning His word ( هَذَا فَوْجٌ مُقْتَحِمٌ مَعَكُمْ لا مَرْحَبًا بِهِمْ ) this is a throng plunging in along with you; no welcome for them, he said: the throng (al-fawj) are the people who enter, throng after throng, and he recited: Whenever a nation enters, it curses its sister that came before it. And His word ( إِنَّهُمْ صَالُوا النَّارِ ) they shall enter the Fire means: they come to the Fire and enter it. ( قَالُوا بَلْ أَنْتُمْ لا مَرْحَبًا بِكُمْ ) they said: No, rather, no welcome for you means: the throng that enters jahannam (Hell) says to the tyrants, whose characteristic He — exalted be His praise — has described for them: No, rather, no welcome for you, O people — that is to say: may your places not be made spacious for you. ( أَنْتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا ) you prepared it for us — they mean: you prepared for us the dwelling in this place and the burning in the Fire, by misleading us and calling us to disbelief in Allah and to the denial of His messengers, until, by following you, we went astray, so that today we have earned the dwelling in jahannam. That, then, is their preparing for them of what they had prepared in the world of Allah's punishment for them in the Hereafter.
( فَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ ) what a wretched abode means: what a wretched place to dwell in is jahannam.
