Tafseer of The letter Saad · Saad · 38:59
[Its inhabitants will say], "This is a company bursting in with you. No welcome for them. Indeed, they will burn in the Fire."

His statement ( هَذَا فَوْجٌ مُقْتَحِمٌ مَعَكُمْ ) This is a throng plunging in with you — the Exalted, whose praise is exalted, means by His statement ( هَذَا فَوْجٌ ) this is a throng: this is a group and a multitude that plunges into the Fire with you, O you tyrants. And that is the entering of one disbelieving nation after another. ( لا مَرْحَبًا بِهِمْ إِنَّهُمْ صَالُوا النَّارِ ) No welcome for them; they will burn in the Fire. This is a report from Allah about the utterance of the tyrants who had entered the Fire before this plunging throng, [addressed] to the throng that plunges in there among them: "No welcome for them." But the utterance is joined together, so that it became as a single utterance, as it is said: He wants to drive you out of your land; what then do you command? — where the utterance of Firʿawn was joined to the utterance of his council. This is as the Exalted, whose praise is exalted, said, reporting about the people of the Fire: Every time a nation enters, it curses its sister.
By their utterance ( لا مَرْحَبًا بِهِمْ ) no welcome for them He means: may their dwelling-places not become spacious for them, as Abū al-Aswad said:
No room for your valley, which is not narrowed (8).
And in accordance with what we have said concerning this, the exegetes spoke.
* Mention of who said that:
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, [concerning] his statement ( هَذَا فَوْجٌ مُقْتَحِمٌ مَعَكُمْ ) this is a throng plunging in with you into the Fire ( لا مَرْحَبًا بِهِمْ إِنَّهُمْ صَالُوا النَّارِ ) no welcome for them; they will burn in the Fire.

The footnotes:
(8) This is part of a verse by Abū al-Aswad al-Duʾalī, cited by Abū ʿUbayda in Majāz al-Qurʾān (folio 212 of the photocopy of the University of Cairo, no. 26059). He said concerning the statement of the Exalted "lā marḥaban bihim": the Arabs say to a man "lā marḥaban bika," that is: may it not become spacious for you, that is: may it not become roomy. Abū al-Aswad said: "lā marḥaba wādīka ghayru muḍayyaqi" (no room for your valley, which is not narrowed). I have not found it in his biography in al-Aghānī, nor in the lexicon of Yāqūt.
