But not the chosen servants of Allah.

And His statement ( إِلا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ ) ("except the sincere servants of Allah"): He says: except the servants of Allah whom, on the day He created them, He chose for His mercy and for whom He recorded felicity in the Mother of the Book (umm al-kitāb); they will not taste the punishment, because they are the people of obedience to Allah and the people of faith (īmān) in Him.
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda ( إِلا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ ), he said: this is the exception that Allah makes.
