But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned.

And His saying فَإِذَا نـزلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ ("But when it descends upon their courtyard") — He says: when the punishment (ʿadhāb) descends upon these polytheists (mushrikīn) who seek to hasten the punishment of Allah. The Arabs say: "the punishment and the chastisement descended upon the courtyard (sāḥa) of so-and-so," and that is when it strikes him. The courtyard (al-sāḥa) is the open space in front of a person's house. فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ ("then evil is the morning of those who were warned") — He says: how wretched is the morning of the people whom Our Messenger warned of the descent of that punishment upon them, but who did not hold it to be true.
And in accordance with what we have said about this, the people of interpretation (ahl al-taʾwīl) have spoken.

Muḥammad related to us, saying: Aḥmad related to us, saying: Asbāṭ related to us, on the authority of al-Suddī, concerning His saying فَإِذَا نـزلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ , he said: upon their house; فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ , he said: how wretched is the morning that they experience.
