The discourse on the explanation of His saying, the Exalted: وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ أَفَلا يَشْكُرُونَ ("And they have therein benefits and drinks; will they then not give thanks?") (36:73)
He, exalted be His remembrance, says: and they have in this cattle benefits—that is, benefits in their wool, their hair, and their fur, in that they fashion from them household furnishings and articles of use, and from their hides shelters—and drinks, in that they drink their milk.
As Bishr related to us, he said: Yazīd related to us, he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ ("and they have therein benefits")—they wear their wool as clothing—وَمَشَارِبُ ("and drinks")—they drink their milk.
And His saying أَفَلا يَشْكُرُونَ ("will they then not give thanks?") means: will they then not give thanks for this favor of Mine and for My beneficence toward them, by obeying Me, by assigning divinity and worship to Me alone, and by abandoning the obedience of Satan and the worship of the idols?
