And We have certainly presented to the people in this Qur'an from every [kind of] example. But, [O Muhammad], if you should bring them a sign, the disbelievers will surely say, "You [believers] are but falsifiers."

The explanation of the statement of the Exalted: وَلَقَدْ ضَرَبْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِي هَذَا الْقُرْآنِ مِنْ كُلِّ مَثَلٍ وَلَئِنْ جِئْتَهُمْ بِآيَةٍ لَيَقُولَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلا مُبْطِلُونَ ("And indeed, We have set forth for the people in this Qurʾān every kind of example; and if you bring them a sign, those who disbelieve will surely say: 'You are nothing but falsifiers'") (30:58).
The Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says: and indeed, We have set forth for the people in this Qurʾān every kind of example as a proof against them, and as a warning to them concerning the oneness of Allāh. And His statement: وَلئنْ جِئْتَهُمْ بِآيَةٍ ("and if you bring them a sign") — He says: and if you, O Muḥammad, bring these people a sign — He says: an indication of the truth of what you say — لَيَقُولَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلَّا مُبْطِلُونَ ("those who disbelieve will surely say: 'You are nothing but falsifiers'"). He says: then those who denied your message and rejected your prophethood will surely say: you, O you who hold Muḥammad to be truthful in what he has brought you, are nothing but falsifiers in what you bring us of these matters.
