But as for those who disbelieved and denied Our verses and the meeting of the Hereafter, those will be brought into the punishment [to remain].

The explanation of the words of the Exalted: وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَلِقَاءِ الآخِرَةِ فَأُولَئِكَ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُونَ (16) ("And as for those who disbelieved and denied Our signs and the meeting of the Hereafter, those will be brought forward into the punishment") (30:16).
The Exalted, whose praise is sublime, says: and as for those who denied the oneness of Allah, gave the lie to His messengers, and rejected the raising up after death and the resurrection for the Abode of the Hereafter — those will be brought forward into the punishment (ʿadhāb) of Allah. Allah has made them appear therein and gathered them therein, so that they may taste the punishment which they denied in the worldly life (¹).
