The explanation of the saying of the Exalted: وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَفَرَّقُونَ (14) (And on the Day when the Hour arrives, on that Day they will be separated from one another. (30:14))
The Exalted, whose remembrance is high, says: And on the Day when the Hour comes, on which the creation is gathered to Allāh — on that Day, He says concerning that day, يَتَفَرَّقُونَ (they will be separated from one another), that is to say: the people of belief in Allāh and the people of disbelief in Him are separated from one another. As for the people of belief: they are led to the right, to the Garden (janna); and as for the people of disbelief: they are led to the left, to the Fire. There Allāh distinguishes the bad from the good.
As Bishr related to us; he said: Yazīd related to us; he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His saying: وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَفَرَّقُونَ — he said: a separation, by Allāh, after which no reunion follows.
