The explanation of His word, the Exalted: اللَّهُ يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ("Allah begins the creation, then He repeats it, then to Him you will be returned") (30:11).

The Exalted, whose praise is mentioned, says: Allah, the Exalted, begins the bringing forth of the entire creation, alone in His bringing forth, without partner and without helper. He brings it into being out of nothing, by His power alone, Mighty and Exalted. Then He brings [it] back as a new creation, after having caused it to perish and having taken it away, just as He began it [originally] as a well-formed creation while it was nothing. ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ("then to Him you will be returned"), He says: then you, after your being brought back as a new creation, will be returned to Him, and you will be gathered for the decisive verdict of the judgment among them, and لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسَاءُوا بِمَا عَمِلُوا وَيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا بِالْحُسْنَى ("so that He may recompense those who did evil for what they did, and reward those who did good with the best").
