ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ

The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters.

    The explanation of His word: الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّكَ فَلا تَكُنْ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ (3:60) (The truth is from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt.)

    Abū Jaʿfar said: He, exalted is His praise, means thereby: that of which I have informed you concerning the account about ʿĪsā, and that his likeness is as the likeness of Ādam, whom He created from dust and to whom his Lord then said كُنْ ("Be") — that is the truth from your Lord. He says: it is the account that comes from your Lord. "So do not be of those who doubt" means: so do not be of those who doubt that it is so, as in:

    7167 — Bishr related to us, he said: Yazīd related to us, he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: "The truth is from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt" means: so do not be in doubt about ʿĪsā, that he is as the likeness of Ādam, a servant of Allah and His messenger, and the word of Allah and His spirit.

    7168 — Al-Muthannā related to me, he said: Isḥāq related to us, he said: ʿAbdallāh ibn Abī Jaʿfar related to us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of al-Rabīʿ, concerning His word: "The truth is from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt", he says: so do not be in doubt about what We have related to you, that ʿĪsā is a servant of Allah and His messenger, and a word from Him and a spirit, and that his likeness with Allah is as the likeness of Ādam, whom He created from dust and to whom He then said: "Be", and he was.

    7169 — Ibn Ḥumayd related to us, he said: Salama related to us, on the authority of Ibn Isḥāq, on the authority of Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar ibn al-Zubayr: "The truth is from your Lord" — that which has come to you of the account about ʿĪsā — "so do not be of those who doubt", that is to say: the truth has already come to you from your Lord, so do not doubt it.

    7170 — Yūnus related to me, he said: Ibn Wahb informed us, he said: Ibn Zayd said concerning His word: "So do not be of those who doubt", he said: those who doubt (al-mumtarūn) are the doubters (al-shākkūn).

    "Al-mirya" (doubt), "al-shakk" (doubt) and "al-rayb" (doubt) are one and the same, just as when you say: "give me", "hand me" and "come here" — this differs in the wording, but it is one [meaning].

    القول في تأويل قوله : الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّكَ فَلا تَكُنْ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ (60) قال أبو جعفر: يعني بذلك جل ثناؤه: الذي أنبأتك به من خبر عيسى، وأنَّ مثله كمثل آدم خلقه من تراب ثم قال له ربه كُنْ = هو الحق من ربك، يقول: هو الخبر الذي هو من عند ربك =" فلا تكن من الممترين "، يعني: فلا تكن من الشاكين في أنّ ذلك كذلك، (29) كما:- 7167 - حدثنا بشر قال، حدثنا يزيد قال، حدثنا سعيد، عن قتادة: " الحق من ربك فلا تكن من الممترين "، يعني: فلا تكن في شكّ من عيسى أنه كمثل آدم، عبدُ الله ورسوله، وكلمةُ الله ورُوحه. 7168 - حدثني المثنى قال، حدثنا إسحاق قال، حدثنا عبد الله بن أبي جعفر، عن أبيه، عن الربيع قوله: " الحق من ربك فلا تكن من الممترين "، يقول: فلا تكن في شكّ مما قصصنا عليك أنّ عيسى عبدُ الله ورسوله، وكلمةٌ منه ورُوحٌ، وأنّ مثله عند الله كمثل آدم خلقه من تُراب ثم قال له كن فيكون. 7169 - حدثنا ابن حميد قال، حدثنا سلمة، عن ابن إسحاق، عن محمد بن جعفر بن الزبير: " الحق من ربك "، ما جاءك من الخبر عن عيسى =" فلا تكن من الممترين "، أي: قد جاءك الحق من ربك فلا تمتَرِ فيه. (30) 7170 - حدثني يونس قال، أخبرنا ابن وهب قال، قال ابن زيد في قوله: " فلا تكن من الممترين "، قال: والممترون الشاكون. * * * " والمرية "" والشك "" والريب "، واحد سواءٌ، كهيئة ما تقول: " أعطني"" وناولني"" وهلم "، فهذا مختلف في الكلام وهو واحد. --------------- الهوامش : (29) انظر تفسير"الامتراء" ، وتفسير نظيرة هذه الآية فيما سلف 3: 190 ، 191.
