His statement: إِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ يَقُصُّ عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَكْثَرَ الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ — Allah the Exalted says: truly, this Qurʾān which I have sent down to you, O Muḥammad, tells the Children of Israel the truth about the majority of the matters over which they differed. That includes, among other things, the point of dispute concerning ʿĪsā: the Jews said about him what they said, the Christians said about him what they said, and they differed so severely that the one party dissociated itself from the other and vice versa, and likewise with other matters over which they differed. Allah the Exalted thus said to them: this Qurʾān tells you the truth about what you dispute among yourselves — so follow it, accept what it contains, for it tells you the truth and guides you upon the path of the straight way.
