And indeed, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare.

His statement: وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ — "And indeed, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they make known" — that is to say: indeed, your Lord knows the hidden thoughts in the breasts of His creatures, what their souls keep in secret, their concealed secrets and the open matters which they bring to light. None of that is hidden from Him; He keeps precise account of it, until He shall requite them all: the doer of good with goodness and the doer of evil with the fitting recompense.
In accordance with what we have said concerning this, the exegetes of the Qurʾān spoke.
