Tafseer of The Ant · An-Naml · 27:63
Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allah? High is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.

The explanation of the word of Allah, the Exalted: أَمَّنْ يَهْدِيكُمْ فِي ظُلُمَاتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَمَنْ يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ أَإِلَهٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى اللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ (63)
(Or He who guides you through the darknesses of the land and the sea, and who sends the winds as glad tidings before His mercy — Is there a god alongside Allah? Exalted is Allah above what they associate as partners) (63)
Allah, exalted be His remembrance, says: Or is that which you associate as partners with Allah better — or He who guides you through the darknesses of the land and the sea when you lose your way therein and the roads through it become dark for you?
As al-Qāsim related to us, saying: al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to me, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj, concerning His word: أَمَّنْ يَهْدِيكُمْ فِي ظُلُمَاتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ (Or He who guides you through the darknesses of the land and the sea): The darknesses on the land are the losing of the way, and those on the sea are the losing of the path over it and the waves and what is therein. His word: وَمَنْ يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ (and who sends the winds as glad tidings before His mercy): he says: and He who sends the winds as glad tidings for the dead land, before His mercy — that is to say: before the rain that brings the dead land to life. And His word: أَإِلَهٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى اللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ (Is there a god alongside Allah? Exalted is Allah above what they associate as partners): Allah, exalted be His remembrance, says: Is there a god alongside Allah, other than Allah, who does any of all that for you so that you would worship him besides Him, or associate him as a partner in your worship of Him? تَعَالَى اللَّهُ (Exalted is Allah): he says: to Allah belongs the exaltedness and the elevation above the association that you ascribe to Him, and above the worship of what you worship besides Him.
[Editor's note: In the Lisān (entry n-sh-r): and His word, the Exalted, وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ نُشُرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ — nushran with ḍamma on the nūn and shīn; it has also been read nashran and nushran with ḍamma on the nūn and fatḥa or sukūn on the shīn; the well-known reading is nushran with ḍamma and sukūn.]
