Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah? Little do you remember.

Allah, exalted be His remembrance, says: Or is what you assign as partners to Allah better — or He Who answers the distressed one when he calls upon Him, and removes the evil that has afflicted him?
As al-Qāsim related to us, saying: al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to me, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj, concerning His word: وَيَكْشِفُ السُّوءَ (and removes the evil): he said: the adversity.
And His word: وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ الأَرْضِ (and makes you successors upon the earth): he says: and after you He appoints as successors upon the earth rulers from among yourselves, living ones who succeed them. And His word: أَإِلَهٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ (Is there a god besides Allah?): he says: Is there a god besides Allah, other than Him, who does these things for you and bestows these favors upon you? And His word: قَلِيلا مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ (how little do you remember): he says: Only little do you remember the greatness of Allah and His benefactions toward you, and only little do you ponder and consider the proofs of Allah toward you — and that is why you have assigned partners to Allah besides Him in His worship.
