Tafseer of The Ant · An-Naml · 27:54

وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلْفَٰحِشَةَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ

And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit immorality while you are seeing?

    Allah, exalted is His remembrance, says: We sent Lūṭ to his people, when he said to them: O my people, أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةِ وَأَنْتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ ('do you commit the abomination while you see?') — while you know that it is an abomination, because you know that no one preceded you in what you do.

    يقول تعالى ذكره: وأرسلنا لوطا إلى قومه, إذ قال لهم: يا قوم (أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ وَأَنْتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ ) أنها فاحشة؛ لعلمكم بأنه لم يسبقكم إلى ما تفعلون من ذلك أحد.
