And His statement: هُدًى belongs to the attributes of the Qurʾān.

He says: these are the signs of the Qurʾān — a clarification from Allah by which He has made plain the way to the Truth and the path to peace. وَبُشْرَى لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ — He says: and glad tidings for whoever believes in it and affirms what has been sent down therein, of the tremendous victory in the return.

And in His statement هُدًى وَبُشْرَى there are two grammatical possibilities in the Arabic language: the nominative (rafʿ) as a nominal construction with the meaning: "it is guidance and glad tidings"; and the accusative (naṣb) as an appositive separate from "the signs of the Qurʾān" — in which case the meaning is: these are the signs of the Qurʾān, the guidance and the glad tidings for the believers; then the definite article is dropped from "guidance" and "glad tidings," so that they become indefinite, while they are an attribute of the definite noun, and that is why they are then placed in the accusative.
