Allah, exalted be His mention, says — reporting what these astray ones say in the blazing Hellfire: وَمَا أَضَلَّنَا إِلا الْمُجْرِمُونَ — "and none led us astray except the criminals (al-mujrimūn)." By the criminals He means: Iblīs, and the son of Ādam who instituted killing as a practice.
As al-Qāsim related to us, saying: al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to me, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj, on the authority of ʿIkrima, concerning His word وَمَا أَضَلَّنَا إِلا الْمُجْرِمُونَ : he said: Iblīs and the slayer, the son of Ādam.
